At Manovikas Special School for Mentally Disabled Children, fundraising is more than just an activity—it is the lifeline that sustains our mission to educate, rehabilitate, and empower children with intellectual disabilities. Every smile we nurture, every life skill we impart, and every hopeful future we build is made possible through the generosity of individuals, organizations, and communities who believe in our cause.
The Purpose Behind Our Fundraising
The journey of a child with special needs is filled with unique challenges that require specialized support—be it personalized education plans, therapy sessions, mobility aids, or vocational training. Unlike regular schools, special education institutions like ours incur significantly higher costs per child to ensure adequate care, safety, and effective learning.
We do not receive sufficient government aid to meet all these needs. This is where fundraising plays a critical role. Our goal is to bridge the gap between what is available and what is truly needed to help each child reach their fullest potential.
More Than Rattling a Tin
Fundraising, as practiced at Manovikas, goes far beyond conventional methods like collecting donations through campaigns. Our approach is thoughtful, strategic, and deeply rooted in transparency and impact.
We actively seek:
- Institutional Grants & CSR Funds: Many of our larger programs—such as therapy units, transportation for rural children, and technology-based learning aids—are funded through applications to government bodies, corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, and charitable foundations.
- Proposal-based Funding: Our dedicated fundraising team works on carefully crafted project proposals, each outlining a specific objective, implementation plan, and outcome. These are submitted to trusts, NGOs, government schemes, and philanthropic organizations to seek long-term and sustainable support.
- Events & Campaigns: We organize awareness walks, cultural programs, exhibitions, and donation drives that allow the community to directly engage with our students and staff, and to witness the impact of their contributions.
- Online Fundraising: Through our website and social media platforms, we run periodic online donation campaigns, enabling people from across the globe to contribute with ease and confidence. Every rupee donated is tracked and reported for utmost transparency.
- In-Kind Donations: Support is not limited to money. Many of our donors choose to give in-kind—educational materials, therapy equipment, furniture, clothing, and groceries that are used to improve our students’ daily experiences.
Why Your Support Matters
Each contribution, big or small, becomes a building block in shaping a better life for a child with special needs. Here’s what your support can achieve:
- ₹500 can sponsor a week's nutritious meals for a student.
- ₹2,000 can cover monthly therapy sessions.
- ₹5,000 can provide learning aids and special educational materials.
- ₹10,000 can help us maintain our transport services for rural students.
- ₹25,000 or more can contribute to larger infrastructure upgrades or the adoption of a child’s full educational needs for a year.
Your kindness today can create independence for someone tomorrow.
Transparency & Accountability
Manovikas is committed to maintaining transparency in every rupee raised and spent. We regularly publish financial reports, project outcomes, and donor updates. Donors are welcome to visit the school, meet the children, and witness how their support is changing lives.

CHARITY AND SOCIAL WELFARE
Many nonprofit groups exist to serve the public good, including providing healthcare, counseling, and shelter. These organizations are tax-exempt due to the relief and assistance they offer, which in turn helps reduce government spending. We are proud to be one of them.

EDUCATION
Several nonprofit organizations work to improve education. Education is an essential part of every child's life. We are committed to providing quality education to children with mental disabilities. Our dedicated teaching faculty delivers highly recommended and personalized instruction to support each child’s growth and development.
